Great dialogue. Would it make sense if whoever decribes himself/herself as a “Renewal”, ‘leadership’, ‘life’, ‘creativity’, or whatever ‘brand’, ethically explain what exactly that ‘coaching brand’ encompasses in terms of its coaching philosophies, scientific frameworks, processes, and the ‘works’ that makes it the most appropriate approach in the interest of the coachee/client. Can this then, answer part of the ethical question about coaching?

As for ‘sustainable change’ due to the coaching process, which grapped my attention while listening to the conversation between Mark & Elle; that to me is a measurement of the effectiveness of coaching, irrespectively which coaching methodologies were used. That would be one of the core ‘evidence’ of what coaching is. Isn’t that what we coaches should be working on in every coaching conversation we are engaging in?
