Talking about Talking: The Field of Communication Coaching

by

As a veteran communication coach for corporate executives and teams, the main question I get asked is “How did you get into this field?”

We communication coaches, a small yet passionate crew, are truly “speech geeks.” We live and breathe all things communication.

Folks on my team at The Speech Improvement Company all have advanced degrees in speech communication, speech language pathology or rhetoric.

Right now, there is no degree in “speech and communication coaching,” but we are investigating partnerships to offer the first progam.

Our specialties include conference and presentation coaching, accent modification, reducing fear, (many would rather be in the coffin than delivering the eulogy!) facilitation and meeting skills. (They don’t call it a “bored” room for nothing?  Would you agree?) Our clients achieve behavioral change and win business as a result of our interventions.

We want to spread the word about our coaching specialty, and we are delighted to be part of Coaching Commons.
