Giving the Gift of Coaching: Coaching The Global Village
By admin
World-class coaches and consultants at Coaching the Global Village are partnering with non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and non-profit social agencies to incorporate coaching skills into their work to reach target outcomes.
These efforts involve individuals, leaders of non-governmental groups as well as localized leaders of the community bringing the ‘coach-approach’ to developing countries.
Coaching the Global Village started as an idea shared among a few friends. Then it picked up steam and is now increasing our outreach, training global leaders in ‘villages’ wherever the need is big to use the coach approach to empower the local citizens and the leaders of nongovernmental organizations (NGO’S).

MISSION
Coaching the Global Village, Inc. (CVG) was created in 2005 to partner with world changing leaders, nonprofits and NGO’s in using professional coaching techniques to bring about sustainable social change in local communities throughout the world.
VISION Coaching collaborations drive sustainable social change worldwide.
VALUES
The wisdom, knowledge, solutions and energy for creating sustainable change already resides within the leadership of local communities. CVG partners with NGO’s and nonprofits to draw on the wisdom and motivation of their clients and employees by leveraging coaching techniques into their work to reach targeted outcomes.
This human capital is the source of leadership that will sustain change efforts long after the project cycle has completed. CVG’s partners across the globe are using coaching to generate innovative and long lasting solutions in partnership with the communities they serve. Mutual learning utilizing a coaching approach comes in the form of empowering conversations using inquiry, powerful questions and a future focused vision for change by evoking wisdom from the people who desire social change.
PROGRAM
Through individual and group coaching, CVG utilizes a team of successful and visionary coaches throughout the world to provide community leaders with consultation in strategic planning, cross-sector partnerships, team building, leadership development and building a network of NGOs.
After completing three pro bono trainings with non-profit organizations in the U.S. and one paid training, the curriculum was revised based on research on the program delivery and response of the participants. CVG is now planning new trainings in Costa Rica (June 2009) Nepal (October 2009), Haiti (Sept 2009) and a special project with returning veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan in conjunction with a photographic story telling seminar traveling the country. CVG coaches will provide follow up coaching for the veterans and their families based on life style redesign coaching. CVG’s business plan is to replicate these programs into 25 locations by 2010.

This sounds very interesting to me – who may I talk with about this initiative?
I’ve been involved with NGOs through work with the World Bank and think that coaching would be an excellent enabler for those institutions.
Please let me know how I can help!
Best wishes,
Eleni Pallas.
