As job opportunities in Michigan remain hard to find, many displaced workers will have to get creative to secure employment.

“Most of the jobs right now, I’d say 90 percent, are being filled through word of mouth and networking, just because I think companies are afraid to post openings right now because they’re getting inundated with resumes,” Greg McLogan said.

This makes networking an important skill for people looking for work.

Yup, the most effective way of job-hunting is through networking. In fact, some people are even utilizing social networking sites (although they take great care of cleaning up their online profiles first).
