“Khun Orn, I just came across a book, Integrity: The Courage to Meet the Demands of Reality By Dr Henry Cloud,” I tell my coaching client during a lunch break. I usually finish my meal faster than others, so sometimes I fill the vacuum by talking about a book I have recently read.
“That’s a good subject. Integrity could be a national agenda for our country. What does the book say?”
“Dr Cloud writes that people who become leaders, or really successful, tend to have three qualities. Number one, they have some set of skills. They know their field, their industry, or their discipline. Number two, they are alliance builders. They have to take their skills and what they do well and build alliances with others who have skills and resources, and form relationships that are mutually beneficial.
“Number three is integrity. The author gives a definition of integrity as character, ethics and morals. But it is more – as even the Oxford Dictionary and the history of the word integrity itself tell us.” Read story.
