Brooklyn finally has its first college-based life coaching certificate program. This is welcome news for Brooklyn residents who want to build their coaching skills, whether to apply them in their current work or to develop an independent personal coaching practice.
The program, offered by master certified coach and experienced trainer Janine Schindler and by associate certified coach Chaya Abelsky, will offer a certificate from Brooklyn College. Classes will be held at the college as well as through teleconferences and webinars, to maximize convenience for participants.
Ms. Abelsky notes that, “Coaching is a $2.4 billion business in the U.S. More people are using coaches every day. Becoming credentialed is vital to success as a coach in this increasingly competitive market. This intensive 15-month program prepares people to function as coaches, and includes all the components that participants need to become credentialed as a coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF).” The ICF is the most widely-recognized and prestigious credentialing body for coaches.
The High Impact Coaching™ Certificate Program includes nine months of classroom, teleclass, and webinar training, a three-month supervised practicum, and a three-month period of one-to-one mentoring. Class size is limited to 12 so all students will get personal attention. Read story.
