Dear Roger –

Good grief, are you in a bind.
Since I’m a life coach and not an attorney or a magician who can wave a magic wand and make your legal woes disappear, I’m going to work with what I have: common sense, wisdom and an ability to communicate clearly. Listen up.

Let’s start with this whole role model/hero notion. With all due respect to Frank Deford, whose recent piece on the Sports Illustrated Web site titled “Tiger Woods, Roger Clemens and the Death of the Sports Hero” makes some compelling points (it is Deford, after all), I believe it’s the creating of heroes out of human beings who happen to possess athletic talent that has us all watching you squirm about your fate in the first place.   Read story.

Wow being in the public eye can be quite the challenge. Is it really his responsibility to justify himself to others here, I don’t know, I think that is his personal call. The government being involved sure makes me skeptical about all of it. Maybe it just all depends on if he really cares what his fans and others think of him.
