August 10, 2009 – Hartford Courant – Hartford, CT, USA
Immediately after getting laid off from his mid-level management position at Bank of America, Larry Minichiello began his job search, checking postings for his former employer and other banks as well as general job-listing sites.
The Canton resident shot out e-mails to professional contacts, friends and acquaintances. He mailed a letter to a friend he had known since they worked together on a civic activity, but it wasn’t until he followed up with a phone call that he got a response.
The friend, owner of a small manufacturing company, invited him to lunch. Over a series of lunch meetings, Minichiello honed his marketing skills and outlined how he could bring value, regardless of the industry.
He is now a member of the senior management team.
