 Entries are being accepted until Dec. 11 for the “Gifting A Family” essay contest from families in Washoe, Storey, Lyon and Churchill counties who have been affected by the economic employment crisis.

 The winning family gets a $500 Walmart gift card, a Christmas tree with trimmings and some free personal life and career coaching sessions. Essays can’t be more than 1,200 words.

 To qualify, entrants are asked to include a description of their current employment and financial situation, how winning the contest would help their family, what they’re passionate about, what’s motivating them to reach employment goals and what type of support they have to make changes now.
