Chemeketa Community College Small Business Development Center won a $99,000 grant.
United States Department of Agriculture awarded the center the Rural Business Enterprise Grant for its efforts to increase economic opportunities in rural areas, said, Emily DuPlessis, Chemeketa public affairs manager.
The center is giving a boost to 25 selected businesses in rural Marion County (Salem, Keizer and Woodburn businesses are not eligible) during the next year with college courses, monthly telephone business coaching sessions, an Internet forum, a computer video camera and more.
