Editor’s Note: Dreams or nightmares. When you fall asleep tonight, one or the other might be waiting for you. This week’s Chronicle is about making the best of either one; either manifesting dreams or avoiding nightmares. The Wall Street Journal reports on Vocation Vacations, a career coaching service that allows anyone to work in their dream job, if only for a couple of days. An executive coach gives advice for women on how to avoid one of the biggest career nightmares, bombing the job interview. A private jet company uses executive coaching to add value to a trip of a lifetime. Scared about the future? Retirement coaches try to alleviate the concern, while one life coach posts a transcript of a session where she helps her client relieve panic at work. Sleep well and be well! ~ Alex Goldsmith
The Chronicle of Coaching provides a snapshot of what’s happening in the coaching profession, designed to show where and how coaching appears in the popular culture worldwide. It is not intended to be a summary service nor a news roundup, although it may serve that purpose for some readers. The Chronicle is new each Thursday morning. Compiled and edited by Alex Goldsmith and Linda Ballew.
