Host Gordon Clark and guest Shirley Anderson are returning to The Coaching Commons.
Thursday September 4th at 10:00am EDT
Ride the crest of a tidal wave of enthusiasm for this series of calls. (You can listen to previous New Wave of Coaching Uncommon Conversations: April 25, May 2, May 9, June 6 and July 3.)
Always unrehearsed, unpredictable and unabashed, these two master coaches are famous for being as surprised as their listeners with the directions their conversations open up.
The uncommon happens when Gordon and Shirley team up with each other and coaches from around the globe! The intention of this one hour monthly conversation is to explore what is relevant and thought provoking in the world of coaching.
Listener participation is invited and encouraged.
This series of conversations has been specially created for the Coaching Commons. It is part of a series entitled 2008 – The Year of Uncommon Conversations produced by Katherine Gotshall English.
To attend this Uncommon Conversation and participate live with questions or examples, register on the Commons home page.
If you can’t attend live, post your thoughts/questions below and remember to come back to CoachingCommons.org where the recording will be posted for your listening pleasure.
Cost to attend the call: Free, except your own long-distance telephone.
Be sure to mark your calendars for future waves of conversations, October 3, November 7 and December 5.
As always, please post your thoughts/questions below.

Hi Guys: Gordon, Katherine and I have conceived a design for the next 4 monthly calls in the New Wave of Coaching series. Each of us individually has become conscious of a new awareness in the world … a new, positive, loving philosophy full of upbeat energy. This has appeared in a number of venues:
- Oprah’s teleseminars with Eckhart Tolle on “A New Earth;”
- Barack Obama’s call for change and especially his book “The Audacity of Hope;”
- John McCain’s bold choice for a running mate;
- Randy Pausch’s YouTube video and book “The Last Lecture;”
- Gerald Michaelson’s “The Art of War for Managers,” and “Sun Tzu for success: How to Use “The Art of War” to Master Challenges and Accomplish the Important Goals in Your Life.” and I’m sure you can identify other movies, stories, and articles.
Center in this direction is James Smith (James Possible), founder of the http://www.CoachesBUZZ.com website and creative xx and marketing phenom. He mobilizes people to identify and launch whatever has been their heart’s desire to create. He has been working with coaches in a pilot program for 7 weeks that has now become an opt-in relationship that can be extended for one year.
What’s unique is that James sees every project with brand-new eyes and has succeeded in galvanizing people into action. So we have designed the New Wave of Coaching calls to follow this model: we will unconditionally support anyone who comes on the call who has a dream they have given up on or have deferred for one reason or another. And we will mobilize the coaching community to contribute ideas, resources, coaching, guidance, whatever, to see your dream come true.
Today we talked with two people who revealed their hope, their dream and we wrapped them in love and support and specific direction. Katherine,Gordon, and I invite you to join us on this blog and announce your dream, as well as join us for the remaining calls … next call Friday October 3 at 10 am. You can register for the call on this website in a couple weeks. In the meantime, let us hear from you.
love, shirley for Kat and Gordon Clark.
ps: Just to let you know this stuff really works: within in hour after the end of our conversation today, I got a call from Pat Williams, founder of the Institute for Life Coach Training, who heard from James about my plan to do a radio show. Turns out that’s Pat’s dream, too, so we’re going to collaborate. I should know not to be surprised, eh? xxoo Shirley
Hi all!
I was listening to your conversation … I get inspired.
So, I get the courage to declare my vision … in fact how else can it work!?
My vision is to bring a global contribution. I’m not sure how this can look like right now, but I’m committed to explore (and to fulfill) it.
So, any input will be great.
Shirley, Gordon and Katherine:
Thanks for the idea, and the spark to explore the “what have I always wanted to do or make happen?” piece of life!
I have always wanted to narrate PBS specials, to interview (in Bill Moyers’ style) deep thinkers, to read poetry or Scripture for radio or special events, and to read for audiobooks. I should like to lend my voice, and unite it with great ideas to aid in the transformation of consciousness.
I should like to join the next call on Oct. 3 to move this forward, but I cannot find the number for the call on this site. How do I join the call? Thanks for any help. I look forward to the call.
Colleen
