Editor’s Note: As the economic challenges continue, job jitters create opportunities for coaches. Coaches are helping clients become indispensable to their employers, they’re helping lawyers and auto dealers find new business, or they’re championing clients who are rethinking their careers. Some people are deciding that now is the perfect time to become a coach, including supermodel Nandinii San, now offering soul coaching in Mumbai. Autistic adults in Delaware are getting specialized coaching to help them succeed at jobs that allow them to do something productive and satisfying. Health coaching helps children learn new diet and exercise habits. What’s the right thing to say to someone who’s fighting cancer? A communication coach told a television audience that a greeting card might not be the best way to send your message, and he got an earful from people who disagree. Finally, in the week we celebrate Earth Day, it seems appropriate to feature a coach whose specialty is green – a green thumb, that is.

The Chronicle of Coaching provides a snapshot of what’s happening in the coaching profession, designed to show where and how coaching appears in the popular culture worldwide. It is not intended to be a summary service nor a news roundup, although it may serve that purpose for some readers. The Chronicle is new each Thursday morning.
