I invite everyone who is interested to post a comment regarding this call. What are you looking forward to hearing from Richard Bandler? What has your experience been with NLP?
I love the title of his new book on the cover. It is in big block red letters (GET THE LIFE YOU WANT) with the “You Want” seeming to be a slightly bigger font size–don’t know if that is accurate or just my perception….
The subtitle says, “The Secrets to Quick and Lasting Life Change with Neuro-Linguistic Programming”. Who wouldn’t want secrets to quick and lasting life change? I know Richard will be ready for all of our questions, perceptions, phobias and interests.
Hear you soon! lk
Aha, I knew Richard would come back to us in print! My question is how is this NLP information related to his work in DHE, Design Human Engineering work?
Dear Lynn,
Thank you for the intervew and pls forward to Richard. My best Thanks
—
Thank you Richard for this book and the next one ‘Guide to Personal Trance-formation’ that I have already pre-ordered on Amazon two months ago as well. Looking forward receiving and reading them!!!
I am soooo curious:-) Do you have any plans to do Neuro-Hypnotic Repatterning seminars sometimes here in US? If yes (hurray!) when and where?

Hello again Richard! It’s good to meet you again, this time virtually (meeting you virtually, not it’s virtually good to meet you again, lol). What’s a quick tip or trick to keep in mind if I fail to produce the result I want when changing a habit of a client? I became a Licensed Practitioner with you in California back in 1999, and have had great success on myself and many others to produce lasting change. Recently though, I have a dear friend and fellow worker who wants to stop clenching her teeth (and grinding them) when she plays with her cats. I’m getting some of the feedback I want when working with her, but she slowly keeps going back to doing it days later. I know it’s too many details here without enough needed details… but I was just asking for “general motivation” for me to do it right the next time… as opposed to my current “Sargent motivation”. I know you’ll give me 5-star general, and I always appreciate it. Thanks for all you do, and all you’re going to do for us!
Your friend in your path,
Brooks Pace
At the present time Neuro-hypnotic Repattering is only taught once a year in Edinburl.
It is a lovely place. Maybe I will do in the US in a couple of years
Jaye My new book includes techniques from over fourty years of finding out what works. Amoung these are DHE techniques where they are the fastest and the easiest.
Brooks relaxation. Turning the symptom into the solution. Grinding teeth is an unconsious process so it is best dealt with by using hypnotic skills. Inducing a trance deep enough to get the client to relieve teeth grinding in slow motion, detecting which way the deriving compusion fuctions.(e.g. small circles around jaw) You can then reverse the sensation making it cause jaw relaxation. Thus the problem becomes its own solution.
So Richard, are you ever going to come to Canada, maybe around Calgary (that’s close to Banff – you’d probably like it there) to do some story telling, etc..
We got it all out here: the friendly Bow River for great fly fishing; wicked skiing; hiking through the brisk colored forests and fresh mountain air; monkey knife fight pits; the sounds of cattle russling; hot fast cars; tall fast women; good eats; music; I could go on……

And, what couple of techniques/technologies would you recommend for one to improve their athletic performance?
Thanks.
To Richard and all you friendly posters, is it typical to be dreaming this stuff?! I’m almost completely through Richard’s book (Get the Life You Want) and last night I dreamt I was in a very tall glass building. I had to leave after many years and to get to the bottom of the building, I had two choices. To fly down or to take the glass elevator.
I took the glass elevator. It was divided up into two, one that went from the 36th story to the 18th and then another from the 18th to the ground floor. Before I got into the elevator I kept having to stuff my suitcases with clothes falling out (baggage?). Then I got in and closed my eyes so that I wouldn’t have to “see” how high up I was. When the elevator began moving it went round and round the side of the building, just like I understand Richard’s methods in his book about recognizing how we’re feeling a feeling and which direction it is moving.
I’m already making discoveries and feeling changes in a very, very short time period.
Really looking forward to meeting everyone and most especially to meeting, you, Richard Bandler.
I am not headed to Canada soon but have done many
seminars there in the past. I will be there again some time
Hi Richard,
Habits are engrained and situated in what was the best approch historically. What are the determinants for anchoring the new life-serving habits in service of getting the life you want and how does this shift one’s way of being. How do you explain the ontological shift and anchoring in a new ontology from a modeling view?
Thanks.
Primitivo
Habits are strong neurological states to change. You must build stronger desires and decisions
as we disassemble the old neurolgical habit.
Lynn, I can share about my own dream experiences that came from learning from Dr. Bandler. In the last Practitioner training I attended with him, all my dreams where vivid and seem to have deep meaningful metaphors/purpose which related to what Richard had been teaching us. There was even one day that he asked about, and alluded to, our dreams the night before with some specifics. I got the impression that he had embedded several suggestions the day before so that he “knew” what we had to have dreamed about… because he made it that way! Dr. Bandler truly is beyond amazing. I just wanted to let you know my experience and that yours was no suprise to me at all… knowing Bandler.
Have an exciting journey,
Brooks Pace
Dr. Bandler,
Thank you so much for your response. You definitely caused a “light to go off in my head”, and it didn’t even burn! I expected a superb response from you, and my expectations were exceeded as always. Thanks again for all you are and do,
Brooks Pace
Hi Richard
I have difficulty motivating myself. I am quite skilled in NLP and have been to 3 of your seminars, Edinburgh Shamanic states, NHR and Amsterdam. Loved them, love all your stuff. Love your attitude.
However, my default state seems like ‘f*** it who cares’. I want to live a more useful life but if I start to commit to doing something I get cold feet, fear and apparent apathy immediately creeps in and I feel tired already and it becomes a battle… that is unless I dont have time to build that state and get dropped right into something, then its ok.
I am doing a lot better than before when I used to get quite ill in an M.E. exhaustion kind of way and I’m gonna get there sooner or later but c’mon
Help!
Whats the best way to light a firework behind my a**?
ok I’ve got my own answer ..anchor the beginning of the ‘cold feet’ state to a state of passion? That’ll do it..let me know if you’ve got something better.
Richard, Thanks for the magic, and especially for the attitude. I’m excited about this book which I’ve had to order from the U.S as you cant get it here in UK til next Year!
Be happy everyone in the US, George Bush will soon be a distant nightmare…how did it ever happen? A moron in charge of a country…same way we got Tony Blair I guess.
Anyway, cant stay here all night..is that really you answering these questions Richard Bandler?
Most NLP’ers are interested in learning advanced information from the master. Rather than the same old Rote questions than any other NLP practitioner could answer, people are very curious about Richard’s unique style. People are interested in how he gets quick results. They want his secrets. The stuff that he never shares. People are also interested in how to be ‘sneaky’ practioners. People want to learn how to be more like Richard, doing very conversational, non-obvious change.
What are the five major problems that people have? How can we approach changing them, in both ourselves and others?
Good morning all, hello to Brooks!
Thank you so much for your lovely share about dreaming. Makes me feel free included and right where I should be!
Looking forward to talking with y’all soon.
lk
Great direct synopsis of what you want to hear on this call with Richard Bandler, Will. I feel the same way!
On that note, during the hour long phone what I usually do is talk with our guest first and then open up the calls about 20-25 minutes into the call for listeners to ask questions and converse.
With Richard being a bit different than the average bear, I’m going to ask him how he would like play/work/talk/invite/inform on the call, so we’ll see where we go from there! I’m sure you’re all up for that.
Please do *6 (star six) on your phone when you join the call so as to mute distracting background noises. When we open up the call and invite you to participate, please *6 when you wish to speak and then say your name and wait to be acknowledged. After you’ve spoken please *6 to mute again so that we can keep distractions down to a low roar.
I’m looking forward to this interview with the amazing Richard Bandler and to also interacting with all of you very special people as well.
“Hear” you soon! lk
Hi Richard,
good to hear from you again. I took your Persuasion Engineering seminar in Orlando, Florida back in 2000. My question is: I’ve had experiences where I’ve made the changes I’ve wanted…only to fall back into old habits and lose the change OR when confronted with a big problem, find myself doubting myself and getting off track. How does one keep oneself on track so that the changes stick, even when faced with turmoil and strife. How to keep from going back?
thanks,
Congratulations to Katherine and Lynn on a “sold out” call, and a warm welcome to our guest Richard Bandler. Because this call is now overbooked, I urge those who have pre-registered to call in on time, and to those who may not be able to connect, please listen to the recording, which will be posted on the Coaching Commons later today! Thanks to all who have posted questions for the call and we are looking forward to hearing Richard’s interview.
Thanks, everyone,
Linda Ballew
for the Coaching Commons Team
Hi Richard and Lynn,
this is kind of late, I only just found out about the call. But,
1) I hope to hear about the next book trance-formation and how it differs from Get the Life you Want. (And when is it to be released?)
2) A lot of the NLP techniques are applied 1-on-1. I’ve had difficulty in applying techniques on myself. I’ve tried the handshake interrupt on my self and as you can imagine, it looks rather silly. How you talk about how we can change our own behaviors by making changes in deep altered states – without the use of another person/hypnotic tapes?
Going to enjoy the call!
Peter
Apologies to all who were interrupted by the horrid technical difficulties on todays call. We are working to identify the problem and reschedule Richard’s interview. We appreciate your patience!
Could you tell us if and when Dr. Bandler is going to speak again about his book?
Hello & thank you Linda, and hello and thank you to Elizabeth, who stayed with us to the end of the call. Technology can do that, breakdown, crackle, be all static noise. There’s nothing wrong, just something missing and once the missing is identified I am confident we will create an extraordinary call.
For those of us who remained on the call we did have an opportunity to speak with Richard. His generosity, passion, and love for human beings comes through – you can hear this man is enjoying himself and it’s contagious.
Richard described his new book, Get The Life You Want, debuting on amazon.com now, as being divided into three sections, get over it, get to it, or shift it. It includes shared life experiences, places where we all can get “stuck” as part of being human.
I asked the question is the book usable for non-NLP folks and he said “Yes!” and that is what attracts me to this book in particular. NLP is a part of who I am everyday, being an NLP trainer, immersed in it for over 20 years now. Still, mainstreaming it has been a challenge for me and I see this book as an extraordinary opportunity to bring fast, precise tools to our families, friends, clients, and communities.
Personally I will be using the book in Open Coaching Workshops where I will offer coaching sessions in groups of 12 – 25 people, and offer one day events which can roll over into a 4 or 6 or 10 week program. Having Richard, the father of NLP, this accessible through this book is wonderful and I thank you, the entire team, for putting this call together, for sticking with it with grace and taking powerful actions to remedy the chaos that sometimes surrounds genius. And an enthusiastic energetic thank you to Richard, the simple sound of your voice has me remember who I am and what my life is about.
Looking forward to the re-scheduled call, I invite everyone to list their questions now, on paper; put the paper into your calendar or folder and make arrangements to be at a landline phone for the call. The sponsoring folks and Richard are gracious and generous and willing to give us this forum, and I want to give back and create an extraordinary experience for all who join us on the re-scheduled call.
Jaye
Hello,
I was wondering when the call will be re-scheduled or if it has been already. Where will this information be posted? This is an amazing opportunity as I wasn’t able to get on the call!
Thanks,
Lisakay
Also ask him, what students do once they’ve trained in NHR, DHE, NLP and feel they’ve ‘soaked him dry’. What does he recommended reading? Lynne McTaggart ‘the field’, certain people in neuro science, latest linguistic books, which authors?
Hey guys,Lynn here
Well, what an extraordinary opportunity with the huge technological snafu on the call with Richard yesterday for us to apply all that we can learn from the tools in his new book!
We are in the midst of organizing and re-doing everything that we need to do to make the call(s) run smoothly.
Notice of a re-schedule will be offered soon! Stay tuned.
Thanks to Jaye for sharing questions that were answered after most of us thought the call had ended.
Lynn strongly suggested that I register for this call with Richard. After a failed attempt, Elizabeth registered me herself. For which many thanks
I came late to the call (21 HOURS in my time) on my busy Thursday evening and was delighted later when the mechanics of the phone broke down and people left in sufficient numbers to allow Richard (lost in the air space) to return to us still on the call to delight us with a Q-A session. It made me regret giving up advancing in NLP and in hypnosis.
So that is all changed now! I shall devote a large proportion of my time to hypnosis and NLP, especially submodalities (USE YOUR BRAIN FOR A CHANGE).
Richard reminded us of so many simple things.
1. To learn and remember you have to BE THERE initially.
2. If you don’t have friends, love yourself and be happy to be WITH YOU.
3. If you don’t like something you cannot control, change the submodalities until you do like it.
4. Getting eyesight back is possible if we age-regress to about 5 years old and carry forward the eyesight we had then (Richard then said to do something regularly, but I cannot remember what it was).
5. The easiest thing to change is a Belief, so change limiting beliefs.
6. Before latching onto a new set of exercises and practices from your latest guru, TRY THEM ON YOURSELF first, before trying them on other p‚àö‚Ñ¢ople.
and many others.
Great evening
Brendan (Paris, France)
Hi there, it’s Jaye. On the eyesight, Richard refered to Bates Eye Exercises, which have been around for quite some time and are accessible online, just google it. Also, pinhole plastic glasses help retrain / reshape the eye, similar to how you develop muscular toning with exercise. And then he shared that the story behind how he discovered restoring eyesight by “accident” during an age regression session with a client who wore glasses, and when regressed to about age 5, couldn’t see until Richard had the client remove their glasses! He also shared that his discovery was pre-lasik, his mom had lasik surgery and her vision is great now. Remember folks, Richard isn’t about doing it “his way”, he’s all about doing what works, the most elegantly, fast, least intrusive, with ongoing change and benefits. His outcome model is part of what keeps him moving forward with such velocity.
I also was struck by his statement that today, after all the years, all the discoveries, all the work he has generated, submodalities is still his greatest discovery. That reminded me how often I neglect this, looking for the “deeper” issue to address when a submodality shift using any one of the many NLP techniques would serve the purpose immediately!
Thank you, Coaching Commons Team, and Richard, again and again, for this forum and for all the shares and comments. This is a great community for transformation!
Jaye
Interesting. We were told all was lost and an email would be sent out with a rescheduled call. Now I read the connection to Richard really was not lost and the call proceeded again as scheduled?? After how long of a time to be exact?
Stay well,
Marjorie
Hey Marjorie and others (Helloo Brendan!),
Evidently when “we” had decided to end the call because Richard was unable to get back in and it was a technological nightmare, many of us leaving allowed for Richard to be able to make it back in. Some people had hung on to the phone and were talking amongst themselves unbeknownst to myself and my producer. These people were able to have a bit of time with Richard and each other in a more sane atmosphere. The time may have been around 3:25 or so.
The Coaching Commons is working behind the scenes as I type this to take care of the technology issues that we were afronted with yesterday (I’ve been told even Oprah experienced this on her first phone call with Eckhert Tolle!) and will be re-scheduling another call with Richard if he is amenable and his schedule allows.
We will alert you to the re-schedule just as soon as we can.
In the meantime, please consider two things:
1.) Go get Richard’s book, “Get the Life You Want”. It truly is life changing;
2.) Peruse through the Coaching Commons website for other interviews that you may enjoy while waiting for this to be re-scheduled.
Thanks to all of you for your good patience and for sharing your wisdom, strength and hope— Warmly, Lynn
Hello, Well it was “lost” in that Richard dropped off the call and could not get back on. Once the call was declared canceled and folks dropped off, Richard got through. He agreed to re-scheduling the call so know that you will have an opportunity to be on with him. To facilitate this opportunity, I invite everyone to start writing your questions now, here for the interviewer and also on paper for yourself so you have them with you on the call.
I wouldn’t say the call proceeded as scheduled. I would say it occurred like this: some folks were voicing upsetment & Elizabeth, who was gracious and patient, was answering their concerns when Richard popped back on the call. He came back to a clear open line and some folks talking, and the openness just lent itself to his chatting with us. We were talking among ourselves as much as Richard was talking, a very informal happening.
For those of us who have experienced Richard over the years, this isn’t unusual. He has a way of shaking up the universe simply in his being there. He is, in my world, one of the most impressive human beings and I encourage you all to get the book now, at amazon.com, and start playing with it BEFORE the call. You are bound to have plenty of questions for him then and that will make the re-scheduled call an outstanding event!
Thanks to all, for the forum and the listening.
Jaye
Thank you Marjorie (and everyone) for raising the questions.
Thank you Jaye and Lynn for so graciously responding to the questions and the technology matters.
Thank you so much to everyone for your patience. We will have constructive resolution to the technology issues –and– coordinate Richard’s return to the Coaching Commons as quickly as his schedule permits. We will post details as soon as we have them in place.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Elizabeth
I need to get information about Bandler Style Training centers in or around San Diego. I want to become an NLP trainer and need to get as close to the original source as possible.
So many people use the NLP phrase while trying to break from Dr. Bandler’s methods. I’ve even seen NLP certification available exclusivly online. I guess these people are certified to put their computers under hypnosis.
http://www.purenlp.com/
This is the site for Richard with John LaValle. John has been with Richard nearly forever, and he is the authorized representative for Richard in the U.S. Richard has been living in Europe for years now, and the buzz is he is coming back to the U.S., either part time or perhaps full time, very soon, which we are hoping translates into more NLP Certifications with Richard here in the U.S.
Hey the other day my computer was doing some interesting things so maybe, just maybe, it was in a hypnotic trance! I have had transformation occur for me through a book, a movie, even a meal, and I take the position that NLP is experiential folks. It requires you show up for life!
Check out this site, and you can also google Richard Bandler and find Richard’s direct site, though it may not have all the U.S. related dates on it; John’s team handles the bookings and listings. And if you have not trained with John LaValle, you are in for a treat! He is fabulous.
Hope this helps, and my thanks again to this forum.
Have an extraordinary day ~
Jaye Lynne
You need to check if NLPers are licensed ceritifed trainers and practioners. Or, check with THE SOCIETY OF NLP. You can do this though http://www.purenlp.com
I will, as always, be doing interviews and teaching all over the planet as time permits. Check http://www.RichardBandler.com for my schedule.
A small note: there is a little free trance on http://www.RichardBandler.TV for those you who want a taste. I am off to London for another Practitioner and Master track
(http://www.NLPLifetraing.com) then to Edinburg for Neuro-hypnotic Repatterning.
