Abby Straus is a coach, facilitator, author and inspirateur. She has spent the last 30 years studying the way people relate to each other and to the world around them, and is passionate about sharing what’s she’s learned. She holds degrees in anthropology and divinity, is an ordained interfaith minister, and has an extensive background in consciousness studies, meditation and counseling.
Abby served as VP/Programs & Services for the International Center for Spirit at Work. She is the president of A. Straus & Associates, Inc., which offers the Becoming Brilliant! series of transformational programs and leadership coaching for individuals and organizations. Abby is a master networker; she loves nothing more than connecting people with each other and with great ideas. She is honored to moderate this conversation. (www.becomingbrilliant.net)
Philip Hellmich is a speaker, trainer, author and fundraiser. Previous to his position as Director of Individual Giving at Search for Common Ground (www.sfcg.org <http://www.sfcg.org> ), he worked extensively with SFCG on programs in Africa and served with the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone (’85-’89). He combines over 18 years of international development and peace building experience with nearly 20 years of meditation practice.
His area of expertise is the intersection between spirituality, consciousness and conflict transformation. Philip’s writing has been published in The Washington Post, The Power of Media: A Handbook for Peacebuilders, Chamalu: Shamanic Way of the Heart (translated), Chicken Soup for the Soul series and several magazines and Peace Corps publications. He has been featured in the documentary films Hello Love (2009) and Search for Common Mound (2009).
