Coaching in individual psychological counseling

The purpose of the training program is to acquaint the student with the methods and technology of coaching and to give effective tools that a coach can use when counseling clients.

Program content:

  • Fundamentals of individual psychological counseling.
  • Organization of the consulting space: soundproofing of the room, calm tones, a comfortable environment, comfortable furniture. The duration of the conversation.
  • Stages: acquaintance with the client; formation and check of advisory hypotheses; correction of the client’s attitudes and behavior; summing up the meeting, discussion of further work.
  • Professional ethics and requirements for the personality of the specialist.
  • Evaluation of results and typical mistakes made by the psychologist.
  • Theoretical foundations of coaching.
  • Coaching as a form of psychological aid.
  • Coaching principles
  • Self-awareness and responsibility – the client collects information independently in order to solve the problem.
  • Lack of an expert attitude and transfer of personal experience to the client.
  • Correlation of achievements in one area of life with success in another.
  • Resistance of the client to changes in life.
  • Step-by-step development – significant and inspiring goals, feasible steps on the way to achieve them.
  • Monitoring – the coach keeps the client’s attention within the goal, reminds him of the importance of achieving it.
